TPACK Quest

After 10 weeks of learning about, and applying my learning with online technology and resources, I wish to reflect on this experience.

My personal growth and training as a teacher have been greatly improved after completing the course "Teaching and Learning with Technology". My favourite aspect about this process was the hands-on application of this learning. Every week, a few learning tasks were assigned, and this learning was both individual exploration as well as a mix of group projects. There is a ton of online resources, from lesson planning, delivery and assessment, and I believe that the jigsaw methods of learning was a VERY beneficial means of covering as much content as possible.

The badges below are visual representations of some of the learning areas which I have covered in the past 10 weeks.

As an educator, I feel much more prepared to convey material and differentiate instruction for my students. My most recent endeavor, (I have posted about) has been successful in engaging my learners because it was a different way of doing a shared reading activity. The effects that I used to read the story, which would have been impossible in a live reading, were pleasing for my students! I even noticed some students who are at times un-engaged fully present using this tech-infused lesson.

This student response motivates me to experiment and try out new tools! I am aware that it may not always work out for the best, but I feel much more prepared to handle these challenges as they come my way!
